‘Tis I. This is my secret identity. Nice pic!

Pretty groovy blog idea Pete. I hope that it flourishes. Perhaps those of us that aren’t located in Portland can become more invloved with the group via the blog.
Have you considered a forum?
I love the St. John’s bridge pic too.

Gary, that’s a good thought — I see you’re using WordPress too, does it have a forum feature built in? I noticed there’s a way you can incorporate instant messaging into the sidebar, which might be fun to play with, too…

Oh, and the photo — that’s one of the many exceptional pictures contributed by Cacophony — easily the most prolific photographer we’ve got. My personal favorite is his photo of the Willamette River (full resolution version here.)

Hi,
Apologies if this is off-topic — it’s about wikis but not Wikipedia.
I registered a few domains a while back with the idea of setting up a “city wiki” or two for the Portland area. As luck would have it, I moved out-of-state right after I set this up. If anyone is interested in starting a non-commercial community wiki site, you can have the domains if you think they might be useful: pdxwiki.org, beavertonwiki.{org,com}. I hate to just release the domains into the wild, since keyword spammers would gobble them up immediately.

Thanks for the offer, David! Be sure to cross-post this to our friends at Portland WikiWednesday, which both more local to Portland, and more general about wikis. (Note the similarity of their URL!) Are the domains expiring any time soon?

pdxwiki.org (arguably the most significant one) expires in August, the other two in January and September. Although if nobody wants them at this time, I’d probably opt to let them auto-renew instead of letting them fall into the wrong hands.
Thanks for the pointer to Portland Wiki Wednesday. I’ll drop a line over there.

Nice blog – it’d be nice to see some contributions from other people too, though – but that will come in time.
I noticed one thing that was a problem for me: I posted a “comment” to another page, and what happened next was that the screen told me that my comment was “pending moderation” (something like that) – but I couldn’t find any simple way to just get BACK to the basic place where I’d entered. This is possibly due to clumsiness on my part – but if I can stumble, so can others. Any way to make that page (correct name?) that you see when you’ve submitted a comment give you a “back to where you came from”, or “back to wikiprojectoregon”, button?
