Nice job! Could allude to the possibilities of identifying who added what (what good does it have to have “tent” moved over to “have” and then discover that….Johnnie forgot he’d signed up to bring it….?) and just in general being able to track who does what, revert, etc….
Might reassure the skeptics to know about these things!
Mom, I kinda disagree — I think this strikes the right balance for an “intro,” it reveals the power and the “fun” of working on a wiki, and leaves the other stuff for later.
More and more, I feel that that “reassuring the skeptics” is not the best use of my energy. People who are open to the idea of a great new technology learn about it quickly, and answering their questions or helping them understand what we’re up to makes a big impact.
People who are skeptical provide a nice challenge, but while it’s satisfying to “convert” somebody, I think the best way to go about “converting” is just to quietly prove them wrong. By writing good articles, helping newbies get past their technical problems, etc.
